ITEM: CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS - 22 West Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, Ardmore Historic District, 18-26
Consider for approval to:
a. replace second and third story double-hung sash windows with clad wood casement windows; and
b. replace an aluminum door on the west end of the ground level façade with a door matching the design of the existing storefront doors.
On January 9, 2019, the Building & Planning Committee recommended approval of application with the following conditions:
a. The two arched-top windows shall be single units rather than rectangular windows with transoms;
b. All windows shall have a thicker center horizontal muntin to replicate the appearance of double-hung windows;
c. The pole gutter shall remain and be resurfaced;
d. A thick vertical mullion shall be placed on the first floor storefront to mark the partition between the retail area and the residential entrance.
