ITEM: HISTORICAL COMMISSION - 125 McClenaghan Mill Road, Wynnewood, Class 2, 2018-R-16
Consider for recommendation to the Board of Commissioners approval to demolish a ca. 1848 residence for the construction of a new residence.
On June 25, 2018, the Historical Commission recommended a 90-day demolition delay in light of the significance of the building. The Commission encourages the applicant to follow the mitigation measures outlined in the Historic Resource Impact Study, and require a measured floorplan to record the footprint of the existing building should it be lost. All other documentation in terms of photographs will be considered complete with the submission of the Study.

The Commission re-affirms the Class II classification, meeting criteria 1, 4, 8, and 10, noting the importance of the vernacular style, the construction of the building, and its links to early landowning families of note in the Township. The Commission would recommend that the demolition not occur until a definite plan of the new structure and landscaping has been presented to the Township. |
