Consider for recommendation to the Board of Commissioners denial of an application to demolish this Class 2 historic resource.

On February 26, 2018, the Historical Commission recommended denial of the demolition application, with a 90-day delay, given the total adverse impact of what the Commission views as a valuable resource. The Commission does not feel that the applicant has fully addressed items 1-4 as requested at the previous meeting. The request for documentation of the building has been met.

Items 1-4, as requested by the Historical Commission during the January 22, 2018 meeting:

(1) a statement addressing the mitigation measures provided in the HRIS and discussed at the meeting, and further, which measures the applicant is willing to accept and to what extent;

(2) Additional information demonstrating considered alternatives to demolition and that the applicant has considered them;

(3) additional information regarding the economic feasibility of adapting all or part of the historic resource for further use; and

(4) information related to whether retention of all or part of the historic resource would represent an unreasonable economic hardship.
