ITEM:  CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS - 7 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, Ardmore Historic District, 17-36

Consider for approval various modifications to the former Merion Title & Trust bank building, which was most recently occupied by Primavera Pizza Kitchen.  On December 13, 2017, the Building & Planning Committee  recommend approval of the application as submitted with the exception of the proposed modifications to the clock, subject to the following:

 

  • Public Works review of the water runoff connections from the front canopy;
  • Review of the signage for compliance with the Zoning Code;
  • The railing lengths and locations of newel posts relative to the overall length shall be clarified for review by a subcommittee;
  • Newel posts shall be spaced no more than eight feet apart, symmetrical on both sides;
  • The design of the canopy shall be re-submitted, showing a structural separation from the existing building, including as many as four new columns as required structurally.
