Consider for recommendation to the Board of Commissioners consolidation of two lots, subdivision of the resulting parcel into four lots, on which one historic resource would be renovated, a new set of twin homes would be built, and one single home would be built. A contributing historic resource would be demolished, as would several bays of a long row of garages, with two being retained to serve the new homes.

On October 3, 2017 HARB considered the following aspects of the project:

1. Demolition of the contributing resource at 503 Old Lancaster Road.

2. Conceptual approval of the subdivision as presented, which would preserve the house at 507 Old Lancaster Road and two groups of two bays of the single-story garage at 501 Old Lancaster Road, and remove some of the single-story garages.

3. A recommendation to the Historical Commission to list both properties, as they are currently laid out, as Class 1 resources on the Historic Resource Inventory. This will allow the developer to take advantage of setback incentives needed to construct the new residences as presented.

A motion to approve the application failed by a vote of 4-2.
