ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The applicant has modified the addition to this stucco ca. 1874 house from the previous application in terms of the material and pitch of the new roof.
On September 12, 2017 HARB recommended approval of the application as submitted, subject to modifications to the roofline and detailing to be reviewed by a subcommittee:
- The roof plan (A-2 2) will be amended to revise the low-slope (membrane roofing) section gable end to a hipped configuration, creating a constant horizontal datum at the top of the second floor addition and eliminating the section of membrane roofing visible from the road.
- The front elevation (A-3 1) will be amended to reflect the hipped roof condition. The gable trim at the first floor addition shall be brought forward of the building plane and extended to the existing building at the second floor addition. The revised gable end shall be provided with decorative trim that is consistent with the existing front porch trim elements.
- The rear elevation (A-3 2) shall be amended to show the hipped roof.
- The right elevation (A-4 2) shall be amended to show the hipped roof.
