ITEM:  CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS - 29-33 East Lancaster Avenue (Former Fellini’s restaurant), Ardmore Historic District, 16-29

Consider for recommendation to the Board of Commissioners a Certificate of Appropriateness to renovate the existing rear facades of the buildings and to partially demolish rear garages to create an open roofed outdoor space. A new overhang would be installed at the rear of the existing building, supported by steel and brick piers. A similar overhang would be constructed in place of two of the current garage spaces; one current garage space will be used for dumpsters.   

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

On December 6, 2016 HARB recommended approval of the application as submitted with the following suggestions based upon the updated plan presented at the meeting; 1) The gaps in the fencing be closed, or the fencing be continuous over the low wall, and the wall and piers be aligned to allow for a continuous fence; 2) Inclusion of bollards or planters at the entrance gates; and 3) Articulation of trim around entry doors and side lights on the rear elevation.
