ITEM:  CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS - 1111 Youngs Ford Road, Gladwyne, Private Residence, Gladwyne Historic District,16-27

Consider for recommendation to the Board of Commissioners a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a rear-gabled, one-story extension onto the southeast (right rear) corner of this ca. 2003 home, a non-contributing resource within the boundaries of the Gladwyne Historic District. The addition, which measures 17’-7 ” by 12’-1” in footprint, will be visible from Youngs Ford Road. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

On November 1, 2016 HARB recommended approval of the application subject to the following changes 1) The façade shall be clad in horizontal siding rather than stucco, and 2) The new egress window on the side elevation shall match the head height of other first floor windows. This application is in compliance with Secretary of the Interior’s Standards numbers 9 and 10. If the homeowner wishes to add an additional window, and it will be visible from the public way, a subcommittee of the HARB will meet with the applicant.
